Royal Nationals 2011: Highlights

Welcome back race fans from all around the world. After taking a small break, we are up and ready to give you what you are used to. We start of by giving you some Highlights of the ongoing event in Aruba, the Royal Nationals 2011.

The event began on Thursday with the Test & Tune session. Cars and bikes lined up in the staging lane, taking advantage of an "open track".

As for the Cars, a streetlegal Nissan Skyline laid down a 12.08ET. The two Xtreme Imports were also present to do some testing, but we can say that both cars were having problems. Alvin Croeze's SuperScion tC was having difficulties with engine control. And Alexander Trimon's Corolla was shaking the tires brutally at the launch.

On Friday, RaceDay1, the Import Class made their first qualifying passes. The SuperScion made it's first solid pass, running 8.06 @ 168mph. Trimon's Corolla ran 8.28 @162mph.
Later on that night, Import Class was called for their 2nd qualifying round. Trimon's Corolla had a nice launch, but by half track began squirling and the driver lifted off the throttle. Alvin's SuperScion tC, piloted by Joy Maduro was the only car in its class to run 7 seconds. The car had a nice launch, with a 1.14sec 60ft. and went 7.95 @ 170mph in the 1/4 mile.
