Records are made to be broken!

October started out with a blast! Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd included world record setting passes, promising engine performances and unbelievable feats from all over the world...

Here's a first, have we ever mentioned a Volvo?

Although this news isn't quite fresh, it's still amazing and needs your attention. Last month, Krister Adeen recorded a 6.85 ET @ 200 MPH with his 4 cylinder-full chassis Volvo 850 on what looks like a 1/4 mile dragstrip.

Here's the video - click here

This record is just 3 hundreds of a second shy from the world record, held by Brent Rau (cick here to see time slip).

Some might associate Swedish drag racing with this man, Jimmy Alund from Sweden, 6x time European Champion. Jimmy was seen locally a year ago driving the King Kong 4 at the International Drag Fest 2010 in Curacao.

Tacoma Power!

Next up we have some good news for the piston fans. The mighty Tacoma engine proved itself this weekend at the Fall Nationals 2011 @ Englishtown New Jersey. Luis Corujo of Paradise Racing ran a solid 7.10 and then a 7.06 ET to become the fastest Tacoma power plant in the world, I see SIXES, people!

Here are the videos;
Paradise Racing 7.06 pass

PapoRacingTeam would like to congratulate Luis Corujo and Paradise Racing with this amazing accomplishment. Everybody is saying it, 2RZ La Ley!

Mr. 6 seconds!

Everyone in attendance at the MiRock FBG Fall Nationals held at Maryland International Raceway were stunned and excited to have witnessed a milestone and history made.
6.907 ET@ 203.06 MPH!
The last true barrier to be broken and Ryan Schnitz is the first man to enter the six second zone on Pro Street non wheelie bar drag bike and he did it with a NOS bike!

Schnitz made history and broke the 6 second barrier aboard the class once dominated by the Nitro powered Suzuki Hayabusa built by HTP Performance’s Cecil Towner.
Pro Street drag bikes are not permitted to use wheelie bars and must have working headlights and tail lights and a wheelbase no longer than 70 inches.
Ryan Schnitz is no longer the “7 Second Kid”! but more like “Mr. 6 Second”!

Fastest 13B!

Yet another record has been set at the Fall Nationals 2011 @ Englishtown New Jersey this weekend.
El Yankee RX8 driven by Jorge "Chivirico" Rivera layed down the law, with a 6.82 ET @ 198 MPH, with a 1.03 60ft, making this The Worlds Fastest 13B!!
Remarkable is the 1.03 60ft, with only 198 MPH trap speed, meaning that the launch was everything!

NHRA records

Jason Line sets the National ET Record with the quickest run in Pro Stock history Monday morning as his Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GXP went 6.447 ET @ 212.49 MPH. Jason slowed to a 6.48 ET @ 212.79 MPH in the finals, getting him the win and backing up the record.

In ProStock Motorcycle, 22-year-old rookie Hector Arana Jr. set the track ET record of 6.781 ET @195.82 MPH at the Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals @ Maple Grove Raceway, becoming the 2nd fastest ProStock Motorcycle in NHRA history with his father Hector Arana as the fastest with a record of 6.777 ET @ 195 MPH.

We told you from the beginning, PapoRacingNews brings you news from all over the world, as long as it's Drag Racing, we will bring it to you.
