The Boss Drag War 2011: Highlights

PapoRacing was on sight at PaloMarga International Raceway for The Boss Drag War 2011 and it was action packed. Everything began Thursday night, where cars were able to Test & Tune. And oh boy, things started to heat up, with a couple of solid passes by import cars and Criollo Outlaw Bikes.

Early in the evening Kevin "Kip" Hassel went down the track and clocked a 7.85 @ 136 mph and later that same night, the scoreboard lit up a 7.66 with only 132 mph for "Kip". Another highlight was the Aliyah Racing Toyota with Alexander Trimon at the wheels, which made a very solid pass of 8.19 sec.

Let's fast forward to Saturday night. With the stands full of fans, qualifying rounds were underway. Some highlights include a nice pass by Jason Angela on the Still Balling Racing Outlaw Turbo Hayabusa clocking a 7.65 sec. Kennedy "Baba" Geo with his Outlaw Turbo Hayabusa was also making solid 7.80 sec passes. Urvin Maduro made a nice pass of 7.84 sec on Angelo Ras' All-Motor Outlaw Hayabusa. As for Import Class, Alvin Croeze tried his SuperScion again, but with the same results, massive clutch issues. Too much power? Now, the SuperScion Team is determined to get this issue fixed and they will make the show in Curacao end of April 2011. The Good2 Racing Toyota Starlet also made its debut Saturday night as the first pass was actually a "launch" test and the car made it down the 1/4 mile in 10.97 sec. The second time around they had problems with the Turbo and did not manage to make a pass. But things are looking good for this 13B powered Starlet, keep it up!

Here are some pictures of the event. Enjoy!
