Later that night, Paolo also received the Most Improved Driver (Rookie of the Year) Award. This was during the CRCCDA general meeting and award night.
Paolo Inocencia bought his Sakura Zero-S 8.5t Electric Touring Car in August 2011 and began racing in October. The Sakura Zero-S platform was used for the first 4 races of the 2012 season and averaged 10th place. With DRMNV climbing aboard as a partial sponsor, it was apparent that a better chassis had to be used in order move up in the point-standings.
Paolo acquired a Team Associated TC6, upgraded it to a TC6.1, raced it and quickly made progress, finishing 6th place of National Race #5. This was the confidence booster that the PapoRacing/DRMNV team was looking for and finished a best 4th place at the last race of the season. Paolo averaged a final position of 5th place (out of 20+ competitors in TC ELEC for the year 2012).

This chassis is now sold and is being replaced by the newer TC6.1 WC edition chassis to compete in the 2013 season. The 2013 season will be much more competitive and fair, with the Touring Car Elec. category switching to the 13.5t motor and "blinky" mode. This year patience and consistency is key and precision PARAMOUNT!!
